Free Medical Care
If a woman is entitled to maternity benefit, she has a right to prenatal confinement and post-natal medical care. National Social Security Fund Act, 1997
Income
Women are given full pay during their maternity leave. Maternity leave benefits are paid by the employer. Employment and Labour Relations Act, 2004
Maternity Leave
Working women have a right to at least 84-day maternity leave fully paid. If a women gave birth to more than one child at the same time, the leave should last at least 100 days.
No Harmful Work
A pregnant woman or a woman who is nursing her child can't be required to perform hazardous work. Employment and Labour Relations Act, 2004, Section 33
Protection Dismissal
An employer can't dismiss a pregnant woman because of her state. Employment and Labour Relations Act, 2004, Section 33
Right to Return to Work
A woman can return to the same position after her maternity leave. Employment and Labour Relations Act, 2004, sec. 56
