In a matter of revision of salaries and wages, it is agreed this 17th day of September, 2012 that:
1. Salary Increase for workers in J - D grades.
The existing salaries/wages of Unionized employees in grade J - D shall be increased by 9.0 % across the board from 1st June, 2012 till 31st May, 2013 and 4.5% from 1st June, 2013 till 31st May, 2014.
• This category of workers will get annual increment as per salary slab for these grades.
2. Salary Increase for Harvesting and Upkeep workers.
2(a)
Harvesting Workers.
® All workers in grade K-l, will earn from U.shs 113,000 to U.shs 126,0per month inclusive of COLA from 1st June, 2012 till 31st May, 2013 and from U.shs 126,000 to U.shs 131,000 per month inclusive of COLA from 1st June, 2013 till 31st May, 2014.
« There will be no salary scale for the workers in Grade K-l.
2(b)
Upkeep workers:
• All workers in grade K-2, will earn from U.shs 102,000 to U.shs 115,0per month inclusive of COLA from 1st June, 2012 till 31st May, 2013 and from U.shs 115,000 to U.shs 120,000 per month inclusive of COLA from 1st June, 2013 till 31st May 2014.
• There will be no salary scale for the workers in the Grade K-2.
3. Duration of the Agreement.
• The duration of this Agreement shall be TWO years, effective from 1st June, 2012 till 31st May, 2014 and shall remain in force till revised.
• Any party wishing to modify or alter any clause in this Agreement shall give at least three months' notice in writing of that fact with sufficient reasons to the other party together with proposed Amendments.
4. Improvement in Productivity
To sustain the above increase in the wage bill it has been agreed that the productivity has to improve throughout the corporation. As already agreed in previous agreement(s), the standard task for harvesters is 1.5 tons for green cane per day.
The both parties resolved to work together to increase productivity.
